The Mindset of Change
Every day we are marketed to about how to lose weight or get that amazing 6 pack
This leads people to have the mindest that there is an easy fix to their weight or lack of fitness problems
Yes – The concept of weight loss and getting fit is pretty straight forward. But the process of changing your lifestyle to meet the criteria is challenging and comes with a lot of mental gymnastics.
You most likely already know how to lose weight and get in shape, but do you have the mindset?
My guess is if you have been following me for any amount of time I have explained the formula for success is strength training, balanced nutrition, and supplementation to lose weight and get into amazing shape. This formula is easier said than done.
There’s nothing wrong with you for not being able to consistently implement this concept. It’s not an intelligence issue. It’s what’s going on between your ears “The physiology of behavior.” is the issue. Psychological forces express themselves through nutrition and exercise behaviors. And the sum of these behaviors is what has given you, your current state of health as of now (good or bad).
If you’re not failing you’re not trying hard enough
Failure is a natural part of changing your behavior . You can’t avoid setbacks, accept them and move on.
A setback happens usually because you took an action, more often than not any action is better than no action at all. It means that you are human and you’re not perfect.
The important part of this process is that you learn from your mistakes, which is the only way you will change your behavior and continue to get better.
And most importantly all change in permanent behavior takes TIME!!!
Transformation results from the combination of better eating and exercise habits over a long period of time, not from some super secret workout or diet program that someone is trying to sell you. In all actuality, your overall goal shouldn’t be to lose weight or get super jacked but should be towards living a healthy active lifestyle. Most likely losing weight and getting lean will come in due time as a result of your lifestyle change.
Lifestyle change is about being honest with yourself. Let go of procrastination and perfectionism mindsets. Start rebuilding and repairing your relationship with food, exercise, and your own body image.
It takes work. It takes time. Naturally, you want to find the easy way out, but you won’t find the best you in the process.
The struggles that you will go through will define you.
Take your self-doubt, your past mistakes, and other negative influences in your life and bury them. Look at your current situation as an opportunity for greatness. All the best stories are about people who came from nothing and found success
You are here for a purpose and you can’t perform that purpose if you are tired, weak, and lack ambition
